Subject: Airport "Security"

Hi BuzzFlash,

Well, here we are after a busy Christmas Holiday, with millions of people traveling around the country (and world).

But I have a problem with the so-called security and who they deem a risk.

Back on Thanksgiving, my niece and her husband flew from Arizona to Connecticut and back again.

They were given the typical pre-flight security but it blew my mind when their 8 month old son had to have his small shoes taken off along with his teething ring removed and both put through the x-ray machine. Guess he really looks like an 8 month old who would hijack a plane.

Now I see on the news how some guy got on board an airliner from Nigeria, with the equivalent of Nitro Glycerin and explosives strapped to his leg.

Excuse me, but what is wrong with this picture, when my niece's eight month old son gets a going over and some twenty something guy from a foreign country gets through the so-called "security" with explosives?

Subject: good wishes for all

Hi, Buzz!!

It's Christmas Eve as I write, and Oklahoma is getting the rarest weather of all: a blinding snowstorm, promising a white Christmas. I can count on the finger of one hand the number of white Christmases we had in Oklahoma as I was growing up. The only thing typical about this storm is the whipping wind. Snow is drifting, and there are whiteout conditions on the streets. We are snug in our house, making Christmas goodies and listening to carols.

I wish everyone Peace and Goodwill, regardless of what you're celebrating this season.

God bless us, everyone!

Subject: A Four Step Approach To Understanding The Obama Government's Modus Operandi

Firstly, Use words to build up hope.

Example 1 - "I support the public option."

Example 2 - "I didn't run for office to help fat cat bankers."

Example 3 - "Israel must stop expanding settlements."

Secondly, Cave on those positions, ASAP

Example 1 - "I never said I supported the public option."

Example 2 - The Obama administration actually helps fat cat bankers get richer by removing any limits on their salaries and bonuses.

Example 3 - Settlement expansion continues unabated except for an eight month moratorium which, to date, hasn't held.

Thirdly, Despite having caved, keep dangling hope

Example 1 - The so-called Health Care Reform bill becomes the law of the land, and is touted by our President as a breakthrough in health care, when, in reality, said privatized system is bound to fail on account of insurance company and Big Pharma greed.

Example 2 - Despite relentlessly high levels of unemployment and house foreclosures, rather than enacting emergency measures to put people to work and help homeowners keep their houses, all the administrantion does is keep insisting that recovery is just around the corner.

Example 3 - The Obama Administration continues to talk up a two-state solution, even though its support of settlement expansion stands in the way of such an outcome.

Put it all together & what've we got?

That the Obama administration's modus operandi is to keep hope alive for change we can believe in, but then it shoots this hope down with its deeds, at the same time always mindful of leaving the public with a few tattered fragments of hope, just in case, never can tell, mass uprisings do happen.

Subject: John Lennon's "Imagine"

Today I received a BuzzFlash e-mail entitled, "John Lennon imagined a world without war..."

Please note that he imagined a world without religion because religions cause the worst wars. Of particular concern is the power in our government of the "Jesus + nothing" folks. I encourage everyone to read Jeff Sharlet's book, "The Family." At the very least read his 2003 Harper's Magazine article. (He had no plans to write a book until he was contacted by people with Family connections after the article was published. Then he investigated further!) It's scary when folks with power believe it's okay to operate as if they have no conscience because their power came from Jesus! (Hint: They think separation of church and state in our Constitution is an obstacle to their religious work!)

Imagine

Imagine there's no Heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today

Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

Subject: A President Who Equates The Common Good With War-Making, Insurance Company Rip-Offs & Wall Street. Bailouts Is What?

Public enemy number one, of which, unfortunately, we've had two in a row now, the first a Republican, the second a Democrat. Goes to show that both of these political parties do nothing but serve the interests of the powers that be. What's it going to take to turn things around? Mass uprisings, that's what. And there is no alternative, what with time running out and perpetual war + global warming + economic meltdown = doomsday.

Subject: mike curtis -- draft

I so agree with you, Mike...all we need is to reinstate the draft....take senate and congressmen's children first, and it would be over in not time...how many of them can come up with a boil on their arse, etc.etc.etc..... This would be a cure for every war legit , or especially the elected ones.....its horrid the poor kids who go, without proper care. I am with you...thanks
