Ben Ptashnik

Ben Ptashnik is a former Vermont state senator who spearheaded Vermont's Clean Election Act. Signed into law in 1997, the bill created public financing for the higher state offices, and limited campaign contributions to $300 dollars. The Supreme Court struck down the Law in 2006, after George Bush appointed Justices Samuel Alito and Chief Justice Roberts. This decision was a precursor to Citizen's United.
