Congressman Danny Davis (D-IL) says he firmly believes President George W. Bush has committed serious impeachable crimes and abuses of power, but says "at this time" he supports a decision by the House Democratic Caucus to put impeachment aside in the interest of helping to elect a Democratic Congress and a Democratic president in 2008.

"Party-issued laptops now a White House headache" A headache?? Sounds more like aiding and abetting criminal activity to me! "... evidence suggests the RNC e-mail system was used for political and government policy matters in violation of federal record preservation and disclosure rules ... Waxman told the Los Angeles Times in a statement that a separate 'e-mail system for high-ranking White House officials would raise serious questions about violations of the Presidential Records Act,' which requires the preservation and ultimate disclosure of e-mails about official government business." And, wouldn't you know, Karl Rove is involved. "When Karl Rove and his top deputies arrived at the White House in 2001, the Republican National Committee provided them with laptop computers and other communication devices to be used ..." A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS

After all the talk about the fired U.S. attorneys, we reported recently on one prosecutor allowed to stay who botched the biggest tax fraud case in American history. Last week, a federal appeals court handed down a "total, humiliating embarrassment" to another prosecutor by vacating a case evidently brought purely for political reasons (but without any evidence).

Larry Beinhart: Things Undone

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
by Larry Beinhart

Things undone:

1. The plan to protect the Gulf Coast.
Does anyone think Katrina was the last hurricane that will hit the Gulf Coast? Most climatologists predict hurricanes will get bigger and stronger.
