Two weeks ago, I spoke of the "American Dance" George W. Bush and his cronies were practicing behind the shade of the White House windows. And now, I find myself on the sidelines watching the Democrats doing the Do-Si-Do as they dance in circles politely bowing as they go.

This is one of the reasons why -- the Repuglicans have acquired such an appalling reputation! The hateful drivel that spews from the mouths of so many conservatives is disgusting and reprehensible; when it becomes "threatening," it's downright criminal! "Right-wing nutcase Michael Graham's latest controversy -- in which he said he wanted to see someone "whack" the Clintons in a Sopranos spoof -- isn't the first time he's used violent rhetoric when discussing the Clintons. In 2003, Graham said of Hillary Clinton: "I wanted to bludgeon her with a tire iron." Then there's this from the darling of right wing radicals, "Ann Coulter once wrote that the debate over Bill Clinton should be about "whether to impeach or assassinate." And who can forget, "the comment by Jesse Helms in 1994: ‘Mr. Clinton better watch out if he comes down here. He'd better have a bodyguard.' Or G. Gordon Liddy's comment in 1995, when discussing how he'd used stick figures of the Clintons for target practice. ‘Thought it might improve my aim,' he said." And the terrible irony of it all is these guys are the ones who also claim to be "Christians"!!!

"Paris Hilton's Symptoms Said to be from Prescription Drug Withdrawal," was the headline news on the Fox News Channel on June 13, 2007. This was the 56th headline on Paris Hilton covered by Fox in the previous 30 days. Even The New York Times got in on the Paris Hilton hoopla with a front-page story June 9 entitled "Celebrity Justice Cuts Both Ways for Paris Hilton."
Four Star General David Petraeus spoke of George Bush's vaunted troop surge as having unintended consequences, i.e., the squirts. And no, I'm not kidding. By putting pressure on targeted segments of the bad guys, we have caused them to, and I quote, "squirt out of Baghdad." That's right. We squeeze. They squirt. Those darn squirters. Clever little squirters they. Wonder if they dart as well. Darting squirters; that would be something to see. Definitely worth a two-drink minimum.

How better to train a society to be obedient than through the schools? Of course what this article tells us about the rules in some schools sounds ridiculous, but has anyone tried to fly lately? These schools are not being any more ridiculous than our own government gets when trying to prove to people that, hey, they are really doing their job. Who sets the rules for the schools? The government. Duct tape was supposed to protect people from a terroristic disaster. People died who believed that and took the Bush GOP's advice. Any accountability for that advice? Color coded alerts every day for years.

In light of the long and demanding efforts by the U.S. Congress to pass a much-needed immigration bill, I offer the following for all Americans de buena fe.
The strength of our great nation is in the tremendous potential dynamism of a social amalgam. And that strength lies in an inter-mixture of diverse strains and components that in wars against oppression and tyranny has drawn upon its many human colors, talents, creative energies, and courage to preserve the unified whole that the many have been able to become.
