Nation's Editorials: No Pardon for Libby

Washington, DC - While editorials from all around the country are emphatically agreeing that President Bush must not pardon I. Lewis Scooter Libby, and while even a former senior Administration official admitted a pardon would be a show of "deep disregard for the rule of law," the President is under fire from his conservative base to do exactly that. As the New York Times noted today, that same former senior Administration official agrees that Libby has "failed to meet the general standard for a pardon by not showing contrition or serving any time." Subject: The Assault On Power By Al Gore

Former Vice President Al Gore has written a book that permits Americans to know that he is definitely the only Democrat with the knowledge, guts and spine to be able to take on big government controlled by big business and corporate America and put our Constitution back in its rightful place, returning our nation to its enviable position in the world: a nation of laws and not of men. He understands that corporations are in charge of this country and will grind the middle class and the poor working man into the mud under their heels, with the gleeful cooperation of the House and the Senate because these elected individuals depend upon big business to be reelected over and over again and so are feeding daily at the corporate trough via campaign finances and lobby massage in the "back rooms" where sweet deals are made for globalized corporations that truly "screw" the people of the USA.

BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

"... the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done ..." '... I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette ..." Hmm, Are the Repuglicans really calling for another "new Pearl Harbor"? Do they want yet another 9-11? Are they willing to sacrifice more American lives in order to stay in power? Do they think further attacks will benefit their party? Do they really believe more attacks will help Bush? When any American calls for more attacks on American soil for any reason at all, it is an abomination! The Repuglican cancerous tumor has metastasized, and to continue on without remedy will be lethal for us all! IMPEACH BUSH/CHENEY!!!

This Republican White House
It's finally being shown
Has a secret plan to fly
Under any radar known.

A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

There’s been a bit of commentary on the net about a statement by the Chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party in which he calls for terrorist attacks on the United States to prove that Bush’s anti-terrorism policies are necessary.

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION

Mitt Romney, in the Republican presidential candidates debate last night, said that the reason we went to war in Iraq was that Saddam Hussein would not let weapons inspectors in.

Democrats Defeat Harmful Voter ID Amendment:
Republicans Continue to Play Politics With Right to Vote

DNC Press

Washington, DC - Yesterday, Democrats united to defeat a harmful Republican amendment that would have imposed a highly restrictive voter ID law. The amendment to the Senate immigration reform bill would have created a modern day poll tax which could disenfranchise millions of Americans, specifically seniors, minorities, youth, urban and rural voters and persons with disabilities. All of these groups are less likely to have government issued photo ID's and would be forced to bear an unnecessary burden just to exercise their fundamental right to vote.

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

Tempers, such as losing them, rarely solve problems, but can be good for our health as long as other people don't get hurt. Dumping the Democratic Party because we are angry at what the Democratic members of Congress did by giving Bush money to keep up his invasion/occupation of Iraq is not the way to solve the problem or problems that we face due to this criminal Bush GOP regime.
