Blanche Lincoln Kicks Bill Clinton in the Butt After He Saved Her A*s
If you value this BuzzFlash exclusive commentary, please help us keep the lights on by contributing at the BuzzFlash Progressive Marketplace.
How does Blanche Lincoln, a Repuglican posing as a Democrat, thank former President Bill Clinton for saving her job? By kicking him in the a*s:
Lincoln scorns Clinton's pleas to save planet. Rescued by Bill Clinton's support, the Arkansas Democrat votes with Big Oil against carbon regulation -- and him:
Lincoln rewarded him by joining with Republicans in a landmark vote to block the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gases. Indeed, Lincoln was one of three conservative Democratic senators (along with Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Ben Nelson of Nebraska) to co-sponsor the resolution authored by Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska.
Benedict Arnolds all three!
End Big Money and Corporate "Personhood" Dollars in Elections and Restore Democracy

Lawrence Lessig
Lawrence Lessig, a professor at Harvard Law School, is a leading thinker on technology and Internet policy. He is the founder of Creative Commons and author of “Code,” “The Future of Ideas,” and “Free Culture.” He is also the leader behind a new movement to fix Congress by getting Big Money out of the election process.
In a recent E-mail to supporters of taking back government from Big Money and Supreme Court rulings that have enabled corporate election buying, Lessig passionately wrote:
Our Constitution says nothing about the liberty of corporations to engage in politics. What it does say, though, is that the government should be accountable to "We, the People" through elected officials who represent our views and interests.
But now the corrupting influence of special interest money has denied us our say in Congress's decisions. It's time for us to stand up and take it back.
As Lessig notes on the site of the movement he founded to draft a Constitutional Amendment that would prevent Big Money from buying our government:
Angle Won't Be Ready to Face The Press For 'A Few Weeks'
Cornyn: Angle Won't Be Ready to Face The Press For 'A Few Weeks.'
And she'll never be ready for the Senate! John Cornyn is as crazy as Angle if he thinks she can be whipped into Repuglican ideology shape in just a few weeks.
Jesus statue destroyed by act of God:
Where is Pat Robertson and his ominous predictions about natural disasters? How will he spin and pin this one on the Democrats this time around?
Sarah, your ignorance is showing again!:
"Following President Obama's speech addressing the Gulf oil spill, Sarah Palin claimed that 'we haven't heard' that stopping the leak is his 'top priority.'" Palin must not have been listening, because minutes earlier, Obama said, "We will fight this spill with everything we've got for as long as it takes."
Dr. J.’s BF Commentary No. 145: NRA: Tanks for the Memories
As some of my readers know, I am a public health physician. I recently had the opportunity to offer some remarks at a conference at the Yale School of Public Health on gun violence and public health. This Commentary is drawn from those remarks. I began by noting that when talking about this subject, the National Rifle Association is the 800 lb. gorilla in the room. I noted at that conference that none of the other speakers, all of whom had government grant-funded research and intervention programs underway, mentioned the words "National Rifle Association." All publicly funded, how could they? If one whiff, not of the gunshots that are so frequent in our society, but of criticism of the NRA coming from a publicly funded program got back to the NRA, giving its totally corrupting influence on the political process in our country, there goes that funding.
More Proof That Repuglicans Have Over-inflated Their Values and Their Credentials to the American People
Rand Paul Exaggerated Medical Board Certification. Where there is no character, credits have to be invented, where there is no honesty, cheating and deception prevails.
Boehner: Government--i.e. Taxpayers--Should Help Pay For Oil Spill: "...House Minority Leader John Boehner said he believes taxpayers should help pick up the tab for the clean up."
Do they really get any dumber than this? This is a Repuglican politician who is supposed to be working for the American people and protecting the business of the people, not boosting the bottom line of corporations. Boner Boehner has got to go!
The US Chamber of Commerce? Really now, it should read 'Just Another Arm of the Repuglican Party.' "US Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue...said he opposes efforts to stick BP, a member of the Chamber, with the bill....We are going to have to get the money from the government and from the companies...."
Blockades, Bombs, and the Supernatural: An Evangelical Christian’s Solution to Iran’s Nuclear Program
BILL BERKOWITZ FOR BUZZFLASH
In the lead-up to Christian Zionist Joel C. Rosenberg’s late-June ‘Epicenter 2010” conference, the best-selling author and former political consultant to Netanyahu, has come up with three ways to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Joel C. Rosenberg is a former political consultant to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the author of Epicenter: How the Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your World, as well as several best-selling novels. Over the past several years, he has been a strong advocate of a muscular military response – be it from the United States or Israel – in order to destroy Iran’s programs.
In a recent statement, Rosenberg maintained that the Obama Administration’s advocacy of, and the United Nations’ imposition of, new economic sanctions against Iran “are weak and won’t have much effect in stopping Iran from getting the Bomb.” Instead of fruitless sanctions, Rosenberg suggested that only decisive action would effectively deal with Iran’s nuclear program.
According to OneNewsNow, a news service of the conservative Christian advocacy group, the American Family Association, Rosenberg has come up three different decisive scenarios: an all-enveloping blockade that would choke deliveries of gas to the country, massive air strikes to destroy any nuclear facilities, or letting Biblical prophesy run its course.
"To do a blockade or some sort of quarantine...would force Iran's economy to slow down, if not shut down, and then could make the government regime vulnerable to overthrow, hopefully by moderates,” Rosenberg said. "But short of that,” the author added, “it's going to take massive air strikes, either by the United States -- which under this administration is not going to do it -- or by Israel.”
Corporations Have No Soul, No Beating Heart and No Capacity to Breathe
SCOTUS: Corporations-Are-People, Election-Spending-Is-Speech Corporations are not people, nor all of the above. Thus negating the Supreme Court Ruling that Corporations are people and spending money is speech! You'd think those self righteous, holier than thou, pious prig conservatives serving on the court would know that.
Angle: I'm Not An Oath Keeper, But I Do Like Keeping Oaths: Another one of those Repuglicans who was "for it, before she was aginst it." Just proves these guys and gals will do anything to get a toe hold in Washington, D.C. and then into every aspect of our lives, including our bedrooms. "Oath Keepers, Tea-baggers, FreedomWorks", all spell Repuglican, they can change the name, but it's still the same old, same old bunch that gave us the worst President and Vice President ever -- Bush and Cheney. Repuglicans created the mess in America today, and Repuglicans want to continue the destruction they started. Repuglicans, the Party of No, are not the guys you want in the trenches, if you really want to win the battle.
Greed Outweighs Common Sense in Colorado Springs
Ahh yes, "the best laid plans of mice, men ( and Repuglicans) often go awry" and so it seems in Colorado Springs where greed outweighed common sense:
The city of Colorado Springs has long persisted as an ultra-conservative, anti-tax bastion. When voters rejected the latest proposal to raise taxes to maintain city services, the bottom fell out of the city budget. Now, hundreds of thousands of citizens are struggling to live without basic services. In this exclusive documentary, we delve into the effects of anti-tax policies on the lives of ordinary people.
It's amazing how some people, when they don't have what they need, discover government ain't so bad after all.
Who Is This Rabbi Dressed Like a Catholic Priest Making Racist Remarks About Mexican-Americans?
Who is Rabbi David F. Nesenoff who seems to enjoy denigrating other people? Derogatory racist remarks are unacceptable, no matter who says them. Is the Rabbi going to follow in Helen Thomas's footsteps; is he going to atone for his remarks just like Helen Thomas did; is Rabbi David F. Nesenoff going to resign? What goes around, comes around and it's time for another resignation!
Bush and Cheney Have Given the U.S. Their Very Own Doctors Mengele
Believe it, Bush/Cheney have given the United States of America their very own Dr. Mengele:
...the Bush administration used medical personnel — including doctors, psychologists and physician assistants — to help justify acts that had long been classified by law and treaty as illegal or unethical and to redefine them as safe, legal and effective when used on terrorism suspects.
It is highly improbable if not completely impossible to move forward with these kinds of atrocities hanging over our heads. No man is above the law not even a President or a Vice President. Impeachment may have been off the table, but prosecution for crimes aganist humanity most certainly is not.
