Jonathan Westminster: "The 15% Solution," Serialization, 6th Installment, Chapter Five
This is the sixth installment of a project that is likely to extend over a two-year-period from January, 2010. It is the serialization of a book entitled The 15% Solution: A Political History of American Fascism, 2001-2022. Under the pseudonym Jonathan Westminster, it is purportedly published in the year 2048 on the 25th Anniversary of the Restoration of Constitutional Democracy in the Re-United States. It was actually published in 1996 by the Thomas Jefferson Press, located in Port Jefferson, NY. The copyright is held by the Press. Herein you will find Chapter 5.
Note that in it, a firmly right-wing court decides that the Executive and Legislative branches, with their control firmly in the hands of the successor to the old Republican Party with no indication that that state of affairs will ever change, decides to remove themselves from any review of the actions of the other two branches.
We now face a right-wing Court, in which the next Justice, Elena Kagan, will likely be the next Whizzer White, giving the Right a 6-3 majority, is also firmly saying to the present Right, "oh you can do just about anything you want to, and we will do whatever we can to cement your power indefinitely." The Scalia Court (and it is the Scalia Court, whoever the Chief Justice is) is just like the "Steps" Court in the book.
Rand Paul Should Certify Himself As An Ego Maniac
Rand Paul is an ego maniac who first created his own "certification" board to boost his medical credentials and has also admitted that if Governor he'd "pardon himself." It makes one wonder if Paul suffers from a God complex, a narcissistic personality disorder, that affects some in the medical profession and definitely the personality disorder of a dictator. Paul certainly seems to have delusions of grandeur and an over inflated image of self. America doesn't need anymore politicians like that in Washington, D.C.
GOP's Emmer Takes States Rights to the Extreme
GOP's Emmer: 'The State Certainly Does Have The Right' To Overturn Federal Laws. At any other time, it would be pertinent to point out how crazy the Repuglicans have become---but given the current political climate, the current Supreme Court, and the number of truly crazies in this country, it's quite possible Repuglicans, tea-baggers, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, FOX NEWS, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Dick Armey, and the radical right will succeed in dismantling the Constitution and thus destroy America.
Judge Martin Feldman, Who Struck Down Offshore Moratorium, Had Investments In The Oil Industry
TONY PEYSER FOR BUZZFLASH
Feldman owned some Transocean stock
It’s for certain.
There was another one he also had called
Halliburton.
There’s nothing wrong with owning stocks
But you don’t need tons of schooling
To know this is a conflict of interest if he’s
Going to make any kind of a ruling.
There’s no real way here to
Excuse himself.
The only thing to do is just
Recuse himself.
Louisiana Judge Who Struck Down Six-Month Ban on Deepwater Oil Drilling Has Extensive Ties to Oil & Gas
When Repuglicans are in control, the almighty dollar wins out over the people. Unbiased impartiality is not a Repuglican virtue, and justice isn't blind:
NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana judge who struck down the Obama administration's six-month ban on deepwater oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico has reported extensive investments in the oil and gas industry, according to financial disclosure reports.
"Show me the Money" has become the overall rallying cry for Repuglicans whereever they are found.
Beck says his 8-28 rally will "reclaim the civil rights movement.... We were the people that did it in the first place."
You will never be Martin Luther King, Glenn Beck. You won't even come close. You have done nothing but gin up vitriol and hatred; you are but a speck of bitterness and wrath in the grand scheme of things. Your lack of character and moral fiber will never achieve the courage and decency or the honesty of a good and just man. Glenn Beck, you are a mean, hatefilled, small man who hasn't got a single iota of goodness. You cannot "reclaim" that which you never ever owned.

Gingrich Stages Assault To Finish What He Started
Gingrich's "Contract with America" which was actually a "Contract on America" was the beginning of the Repuglican "Destruction of America" and now he's plotting another assault to finish what he started. The final push to complete and utter destruction: Gingrich Plots GOP Comeback Against 'Radical' Obama.
In reality, radical is how Gingrich and the gang managed to annihilate Democracy, it's the Radical Repuglicans who created the catastrophes that brought America to its knees.
BP -- America's 21st Century Black Plague?
BuzzFlash,
Bureaucracy: The perfect bureaucrat everywhere is the man who manages to make no decisions and escapes all responsibility, Brooks Atkinson, Once Around the Sun, 1951
How long will the memory last this time, I wonder. I was thinking of a book "Epidemic and Peace 1918 Alfred W. Crosby, Jr., America's Deadliest influenza epidemic . . . and, how it was forgotten at the time it was still going on. "Between August, 1918 and March, 1919, the Spanish influenza spread world-wide claiming over 25 million lives. Relatively mild in its first epidemic, the second and third waves of the disease had devastating results."
Down through the ages mankind has suffered from epidemics of one kind or another and the world has come a long way in fighting these outbreaks. However, even though that is true . . . our arrogance is showing in today's world, but this latest tragedy was brought about by deregulation and privatization, along with greed and members of Congress closing one eye . . . who will suffer in the future and who is already suffering because of this supercilious demonstration of stupidity and greed by a company that has, as they say "grown too big for its britches." When we, the people, make the mistake of thinking that the larger the corporation, the more experts, the more money, the more rules and regulations will guarantee the safety of their employees and the citizens on this planet, it turns out not to be the case. In fact, it seems that this company did not have the atmosphere where the workers could speak up or would be listened to, or if they did speak out, evidently, it didn't matter. This could be surmised by the comments of the wife of one of those eleven workers killed in this fiasco.
Taking into account and according to proportion, we have harsher penalties for drunks on the road. In many cases, even those are not strict enough, until they finally kill innocent people. Questions about BP hang in the air. Why was this company allowed to operate after all of the reports we have of their reputation for mishaps? Why were they not shut down for the safety of their workers? The monetary penalties were merely slaps on the wrist and when that is the case . . . as in violence or greed . . . comes escalation. With such a company, a person has more of a chance at winning the lottery, than the assurance of safety at work.
Overwhelming Repuglican Support of BP Reveals to the "Small people" that Repuglican Allegiance Is With Corporations
And not with the people:
...what manner of folks will be running Congress if control flips to Republicans in the November election...Joe Barton is not alone in tossing bouquets and sympathy toward the corporation responsible for the worse pollution disaster in American history...BP "shouldn't have to be fleeced," in the words of Rep. Michelle Bachmann...who described as "a redistribution of wealth fund" the $20 billion escrow account set up to pay cleanup costs and claims..."We can't afford to demonize" BP, Sarah Palin declared...President Obama "is directly engaged in extorting money" from BP, ex-House Speaker...Newt Gingrich charged...when he was a law professor, Barack Obama taught his law students "how to use the Constitution to shake down corporations through race and grievance lawsuits," Rush Limbaugh charged..." The BP escrow account is an example of "Chicago-style shakedown politics" by President Obama, Rep. Tom Price, R-Georgia, chairman of the Republican Study Committee...Rand Paul delivered a now-famous "Accidents happen."
Welcome to the United States of Corporatism, of Repuglicans, by Repuglicans, and for Repuglicans.
Why is Dick Cheney So Quiet About the Current Disaster in the Gulf?
What do Dick Cheney, Haliburton, and a Cash Cow have in common and why is Dick so quiet about the current disaster in the Gulf?
Halliburton was working on the Deepwater Horizon rig just before it blew up, opening the well and sending oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico. Some experts have speculated that the company may have been to blame for the explosion. The pro-oil atmosphere (and Cheney's continued links to Halliburton) during his vice presidency, have also come to the fore since the April 20 accident...Cheney received a $34 million payout when he left Halliburton to join George W. Bush's ticket in September 2000...the Congressional Research Service found that he "retained ties" to the company into 2003, while in government, through "unexercised stock options and deferred salary."...2005 President Bush signed the Energy Policy Act, which retained the focus of Cheney's report, into law. It included what has become known as "the Halliburton loophole," which removed authority from the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate a potentially dangerous gas-drilling process invented by Halliburton.
Why hasn't Mainstream Corporate Media been looking into Cheney, Haliburton and the other factors that may have had some culpability for the Disaster in the Gulf?
