At BuzzFlash, we want to be part of the fun and excitement that surrounds March Madness every year. But after about 20 seconds of pretending to know about basketball, we realized their bracket just wasn't our thing.

Here's the next best thing: we've created our own tournament, "The BuzzFlash Sour Sixteen: Republican Race to the Bottom." But we need a little help from you.

The tournament works by pitting 16 of the most dangerous, backwards, low, disreputable, worthless Republicans against each other in one-on-one matches to be decided by you.

The one who gets the most votes will be deemed the bigger enemy of the people, and advance to the next round.

There will be one matchup per day Monday through Thursday, starting March 16, with a recap of the events on Friday. On April 8, we will have the championship and then officially crown the most worthless bottom feeder of them all.

Right now, we have 10 great candidates, but we want your help picking the other six. Here's who we have already:

George W. Bush
Dick Cheney
Rush Limbaugh
Tom DeLay
Karl Rove
Michele Bachmann
Ann Coulter
Bill O'Reilly
Alberto Gonzales
Bobby Jindal

Click here to check out our Republican Race to the Bottom Bracket so far. As you can see, there are still six spots to fill, and you can help us fill them. Who should be included in the Republican Race to the Bottom? You can pick some of the following, or suggest others:

Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, Rick Warren, Antonin Scalia, Eric Cantor, Newt Gingrich, Michael Steele, Sean Hannity, Donald Rumsfeld, John Boehner, David Vitter, Bill Kristol, John Bolton, John Yoo.

There are certainly plenty to choose from! Leave a comment below to let us know what you think.

Israel's Gaza Strategy a Calculated Success

A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS

by Marc Muszynski

Whether or not you agree with Israel's invasion of Gaza or not, give them credit for the cold efficiency of their operation.
For over a year now, Israel has been planning military action against Hamas, but they wanted to make sure it was over before Barack Obama was inaugurated.

The Strategy

1. Israel keeps reporters out initially, and by the time Western reporters get into Gasa, their coverage is eclipsed by the inauguration. Even though Al Jazeera was broadcasting live online throughout the event, many people in the U.S. and Europe still have trouble finding out what was going on.

A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

Message to the Republican Party: The "Real America" is not a region, religion or a demographic of people – and it is not rallies composed of rowdy, bigoted hooligans.

The "Real America" is a gift given to us in the form of the Constitution and a system of government that guarantees rule by the consent of the governed – and that includes all citizens who are eligible to vote – and a nation that abides by the rule of law.

A BuzzFlash reader recently sent us this quotation from Robert F. Kennedy:
