Subject: A Neck Ready for the Block?
Well, here goes: a political prognostication for the coming election.
Barring any last minute trump cards played by Mr. Rove, and as others have said, Osama Bin Laden in cold storage, ready to be displayed on a plank a day before the vote, I predict a tidal wave of Democratic success on November 7th.
Subject: Rove knows
There you go again.
Beset by discouraging polls and division within ideological ranks, the White House is accelerating efforts to woo back disaffected conservatives and energize the Republican base in a reprise of a strategy that succeeded in the last two campaign cycles.
The GOP Leans on A Proven Strategy: White House Courts Conservative Base (Peter Baker, The Washington Post; bolding mine)
The "strategy" is known as "who needs the voters when you've got the votes?" But "if you're going to rig an election, make sure it's as polarized as possible so it damn well means something."

We think you might like this new song by Steve Conn. It's a compassionate attack on the current leadership of America.
It's funky and it's free.
Subject: Tried and True Methods
I just read the Tom Paine article about the tried and true methods that will again be used to disenfranchise legal voters, and I wondered if anyone has looked into the problem that cropped up in the last election of overseas ballots being mailed too late to make it back in time or not getting there at all. Or, what about the Pentagon electronic voting that was just scrapped with no explanation (and no counting) the last time? How will these votes be handled this time? How are our soldiers voting this time -- haven't heard a word.
Subject: The latest Republican hypocrisy
As usual...and with all these men who get caught, "Craig Schelske will forgive his wife for the awful things she is saying about him." Did anyone wonder? She found so much of a nasty life just on his computer....pictures he had even taken of himself...and his anatomy...that was posted on his Craigpac...and has the nerve to say..."He will forgive her"...if he is not a Pervert...he has got to be a Grand Old Pervert! For the first time in my life...I feel for Sara. I felt no compassion for her at first, because she and her husband worked for the election of Bush in 2000...when her husband ran, now....she seems pretty sick of it all.

Soooo typically Reaganesque ... gotta admire these guys for one thing (and, only one thing) learning the lessons of Reagan's Iran Contra testimony (i.e., 'I don't recall ...") - and - 'sticking' to it.
Subject: There's No Turning Back
The tidal wave of rage, disgust, and indignation of most Americans toward the fascist Bush regime will not be stopped by any stolen election. We will only grow stronger. The neocon chickenhawks cannot prevail against an insurgency in America any more than they can one in Iraq. When faced with a population determined to defend OUR freedom and OUR country, they will cut and run. They always do.
