Subject: Respecting Your President

How hard is it for Eric Holder to make a decision to appoint a special prosecutor?

He KNOWS that waterboarding is TORTURE, because he said so. Yet we have Obama, yes that same Obama who taught for TWELVE YEARS Constitutional law at the University of Chicago, pressuring Holder to look the other way.

Our President, who is suppose to UPHOLD and PROTECT our Constitution is breaking the law, by advising his Attorney General to IGNORE all the crimes that have been committed by the Bush/Cheney administration.

This president, who promised us change, has LIED to the American people. He has NOT done what he promised to do. He was going to close Guantanamo Bay, and he hasn't. He was going to undo all those signing statements that Bush put in place, he hasn't done that. He was going to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan and he hasn't. Aren't we still being wiretapped?

I'm getting the impression, that all those people who he's chosen to be surrounded by, aren't any different than the Bush crowd.

Obama, does a LOT of PHOTO ops, and the family looks great as a distraction from what he should be doing.

This president, SHOULD be leading the charge to have HEARINGS for Cheney, Rove, Rumsfield, Rice, Addington, Yoo, Byebee, Bush, Gonzales, and all the others in that administration who helped destroy out Constitution.

I will NOT let Obama off the hook and only look forward. This country has a past that MUST be dealt with or we as a country CANNOT go forward.

We CANNOT lead the world and pass judgment on other countries, when we have not cleaned our own house up.

So Obama can make all the speeches he wants, but they go in one ear and out the other. He can smile from now until the cows come home, but UNTIL he performs his duty to the American people to PROTECT our Constitution, he has been a disappointment as a LEADER and someone to look up to and RESPECT.

If I can't RESPECT my president, neither will anyone else in the world. They know America has two laws, one for America and one for the rest of the world.

Unless Obama lives up to his campaign of change, NOTHING has changed since the last election. Everything Bush and Cheney did to our country and Constitution is STILL in place courtesy of President Obama.

I will only RESPECT Obama, when he does the right thing. More than likely, he'll only do that, when he is forced to investigate.

Don't you wonder how these politicians, judges, lawyers, T.V. anchors, and journalists live with themselves, knowing full well that they are helping to destroy this country and all that it stands for?

We must continue calling Congress and the media DEMANDING that a special prosecutor be appointed. We MUST have LIVE T.V. coverage like Watergate, so WE THE PEOPLE know what actually took place in our name.

Subject: Senator Al Franken

Senator Franken has only been seated for a few weeks and is making an appearance on the Senate Judiciary Committee during the hearings for Judge Sonya Sotomayor.

I've been watching video clips of the various Senators in action. The Republicons have been absolutely disgusting and shameful with their condescending and patronizing and racist and sexist questions and comments.

On the other hand, Franken has been much more polished and straight forward. He may have asked the best question today: Why do you want this job? Simple and straightforward with no bloviating or pontificating.

Senator Al Franken is going to be a pleasant surprise. Woe to any of the brain dead Republicons who attempt to take him on. He will eviscerate them with his rapier intellect and wit.

Subject: Sotomayor gut-punches Coburn

He wanted to know what her gut feeling on gun control was and her answer was nicer than mine would have been. She said you don't decide cases that way.

I would have said, "every Republican on the planet has been yelling for a month that I should ignore my Latina woman's intuition, my empathy, sympathy, common sense and you want to know my gut feeling? If I can't use my gut feeling then my gut isn't your concern, is it?"

So far this month Coburn thinks he has the same rights as a minister because he lives in a church, he thinks marital advice for a man is privileged because Coburn is an OB-GYN and Tom thinks he is a one man "well regulated militia". I think "well regulated" means there should be regulations.

Coburn would be okay if she used the Bible to interpret the Constitution as long as she used the correct interpretation.

Subject: Sen. Grassley and taking property by condemnation

The good senator must not be aware of G.W.Bush and his circuitous acquisition of land adjoining his ball park in Texas. He got the land and wound up making several million dollars reselling part of it! The couple owning the land had not wanted to sell it so Bush had the municipality condemn it and the owners were paid a mere fraction of its value. It might be interesting to know why the constitutional rights of the owners were ignored in that instance.

Subject: Peggy Noonan

Things must be pretty bad for Sarah Palin.

The perpetual vapid airhead who sounds like she's on helium is now dissing Sarah Palin.

Peggy Noonan has never struck me as being too very sharp. Something about the things she talks about and more importantly how empty headed she sounds when on providing commentary sounds like she's on heavy-duty drugs.

I almost feel badly for Sarah. ALMOST.

Subject: sicko

We've just been informed that Bill Moyers, on his show tonight, will expose for the first time the health insurance industry's secret campaign against Michael Moore and his film, "Sicko." It contains a stunning revelation and admission by a top health insurance executive -- the former head of publicity for CIGNA, one of the top health insurance companies in the country -- that the disinformation and attacks on Michael and the film were extensive and well-planned. Their job was to stop the movie from reaching a wide audience (and, more importantly, from having the widespread political impact the industry feared "Sicko" would have).

Wendell Potter, former Head of Corporate Communications at CIGNA (which provides health insurance to nearly 70 percent of the Fortune 100 companies) admits that, in fact, "Sicko" "hit the nail on the head" and told the real truth about how much better people in other countries have it when it comes to their health care. Subject: mailbag 7/9/09 Scott...Fayetteville, Ar,.

Yeah...seems politicians have been spinning since I can remember....but, wait until you have what you thought was a family who does the same thing. I have a relative who at one time would send me 10 emails a day...FROM HIS WORK PLACE....then when i changed email addresses he did not have it...and all the family was ordered to not give it to him. SOMEONE DID....AND BY THAT TIME, HE WAS SO ENRAGED..HIS HEAD WAS ABOUT TO BLOW OFF THE TOP....SO, HE SPENT 16 HOURS A DAY, WORKING ON THE GREATEST SPIN..BETTER THAN ANY ONE A DEM.OR REP.COULD EVER EVEN THINK OF. HE COULD TEACH IT. He took emails , with no names of course, and created things against each and every family member...with my signature on the bottom...of course it was not my signature, because on these days...i was not even on this or any other mailbag... Yeah...they are not speaking...but,as one said to me...THAT IS THEIR PROBLEM...NOT MINE!! Politicians, I think are taught to spin from the time they enter the arena....it is really sad when those of us out here who do not get our way...accuse common ordinary man of lying....just because...for no reason.. there is no office to be elected to...it is just a disgruntled person, getting his way, turning all of them to his side...and believe me, it is not a surprise...the persons involved all knew it would happen sooner or later...

Subject: Peter King on Michael Jackson

Peter King has been shooting off his mouth about Michael Jackson -- calling him a pervert and a child monster. There are people who think Michael was guilty of this, although he was never found guilty of such.

Even worse, King has been making these statements in public, which is his constitutional right. But it does make me wonder.

I don't remember hearing King going off like this when Mark Foley resigned in disgrace. I don't remember hearing King going off like when numerous Republican party officials at all ends of the spectrum have been caught, tried and found guilty.

What makes one okay, but not the other? Can't see the log in your own eye, King? Or, in this case, in your own party members who get caught with their pants down?

What's that about people in glass houses?

Subject: Comedians in Congress

It's been very funny and revealing to listen to the Republicons bemoaning and gnashing their teeth about Al Franken (finally) being certified and sworn in as a member of the US Senate.

That's rather ironic, at the least. The Republicons have been providing us with a continuing glut of hilarious comedic antics on a rather daily basis for the past 30 years. Of course, their comedy has been nonscripted and unintentional, unlike Franken. Franken was actually a comedy writer.

Who could top Sarah Palin's day-in and day-out antics. Or, Mark Sanford's? Dubya? Dana Perino? Are the Republicons just jealous?

Methinks they doth protest too much.

Subject: MSM - Manipulation and Modulation

The Buzz may be lean - but it's still mean. What a contrast to MSM MJ 24/7 fixation - Disney run a muck. We elected Obama but it seems an Obushma was substituted at the last minute.

To try to force Russia into an anti-Iranian stance over Star Wars is virtually criminal - and it won't work. Obama is supporting RWR's Star Wars? Why doesn't he try some bleach baths. NASA policy that outright stupid - more man-in-can missions to the moon? I saw their new "images from the moon" and thought I was going myopic. It's difficult to spot an un-cratered site for a lunar dream home. Even their chief scientists are in revolt over the loss of shuttle capabilities. It's all nonsense and everyone should recognize it for what it is. I like Mark better when he's mad - he writes better when his anger shows.

GE gets TARP money. Feinstein's husband is in the foreclosed properties business. Republicans got their GM bankruptcy after all. They can finish the company off at their leisure. Big SUV's are dying an ugly and odorous death on our nation's highways. Republicans and Blue Dogs warn of the Europeanization of America over health care - but excuse me - wasn't it Fiat buying Chrysler - not the other way around. The Europeans are maintaining their manufacturing base - while we continue to voluntarily dismantle ours.

Everybody in government now is a republican. The myth of a democratic party has been swept away by the election of Obama and the inauguration of Obushma.
