BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

Today's war in Iraq is reminiscent of another war in which a rag-tag bunch of militia men, fighting for their cause, whipped the greatest super power existing in the world at the time--The American Revolutionary War!

Having, quite by accident, caught some of the Bush speech at the NAACP Convention on TV, it occurred to me that Karl Rove's strategies have finally run out! I am reminded that sooner or later the public becomes painfully aware of empty rhetoric, of attempts to talk the talk, and incapable of walking the walk! Sooner or later the overused jokes and the juvenile behavior become disgusting rather than endearing. Rambling words without any substance does not deceive anyone and it only goes to make us all painfully aware that the speaker is a fool!

I am sick and tired of George Bush in particular and this administration in general, I am fed up with the in your face and whatta ya gonna do about it policies!!! "Bush personally blocked a Justice Department investigation into the administration's controversial secret domestic spying programs ... Bush's move -- denying the requisite security clearances to attorneys from the department's ethics office -- is unprecedented in that office's history ... It is not common for a president to personally intervene to stop an investigation of his own administration." For God's sake it's about time for some of those impotent Representatives and Senators up there in Washington to get off their duffs and do something about the illegal activity of this whole cabal of CROOKS.

"The Bush administration's notion that toppling Saddam Hussein would stabilize a turbulent region is among the casualties of this week's Middle East carnage." The unspeakable irony of it all--Bush's audacity to even think invading Iraq would stabilize the Middle East and the fact he continues to pontificate about the progress that really hasn't been made. Instability is all he's achieved; we are witness to more and more war all over the Middle East! His preemptive unnecessary war in Iraq has brought chaos to the entire world--it's no wonder America is viewed with such disdain! He should have listened to Poppy a long time ago!

Would that the IAPA President, Diana Daniels of the Washington Post Co., be as diligent in scrutinizing the lengths to which the White House in the United States goes to restrict the press, perhaps we wouldn't have the weak-kneed, wimpy, impotent mainstream media that exists in our own country!

Joe Lieberman's biggest problem is HYPOCRISY! Denouncing one president's private peccadillo on the floor of the senate on moral grounds, and praising an idiot's preemptive unnecessary war just doesn't jive. In one case no one died, in the other, thousands of innocent people died unnecessarily, and one certainly outweighs the other by thousands of morals! And then there was that kiss of political death for Joe, enough to seal the deal that Joe must go!

How quickly you are forgotten in Washington! A town where off with the old, Tom DeLay, on with the new, John Boehner, is the mantra, and follow the money is truly the "golden" rule! Reform is spelled M-O-N-E-Y and more M-O-N-E-Y in the Congressional Book of Rules! Mr. Boehner has "averaged $10,000 a day since February, according to an article in The Times by Mike McIntire, with banks, health insurers and drug, oil and cigarette corporations among the biggest donors. As for golf junkets and other ‘educational' freebies, Mr. DeLay scored 18 trips financed by private interests since 2000; Mr. Boehner has racked up 39 in that time." MY, my how some things in Washington they do stay the same!!!
