BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

Today is a day of remembrance, a day of infamy, and we bow our heads for all those who lost their lives in this tragedy. Our hearts go out to their families and friends, our nation mourns their loss. If we are indeed to do everything possible to avert any future terrorism here in America, we must also remember that George Bush ignored an August 6th PDB that warned "Osama determined to strike within the U.S.; that this administration had a preconceived PNAC plan to go to war in the Middle East; and that the threat of terrorism was not a priority.

Started to view ABC's "docu-drama," "The Path to 9-11" and after a very short time found it to be so poorly written and the presentation was so hokey I decided it wasn't worth the time to even see if they had edited the lies! Picked up the remote and quickly changed the channel to Ted Koppel's, "The Price of Security," airing on the Discovery Channel. Found a far more interesting debate and much more productive use of my time!

If the Bush administration was looking for credibility when they paraded Dick Cheney on "Meet the Press" yesterday, alas they have again failed! All he did was reiterate the same lies and innuendo he's told so very many times before. He is the most pathetic excuse for integrity this country has ever had to endure. For God's sake, he now blames the American people for the Bush administrations failures: "The American people don't have the stomach for the fight ... suggestions, for example, that we should withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq, simply feed into that whole notion, and validates the strategy of the terrorists ..."

The most pointless question asked by mainstream media of George Bush, Dick Cheney or anyone in the Bush administration has become: "MR. RUSSERT: ... Based on what you know now, that Saddam did not have the weapons of mass destruction that were described, would you still have gone into Iraq?" Why, you may ask? Because they actually did know then what they know now, and they "fixed the facts" to preemptively invade Iraq! We, the American people are the only ones who didn't know then what we know now!

"PRES. GEORGE W. BUSH: Iraq is the central front in the war on terror." If this is true, we are in real trouble!

The audacity of the moron perched in the Oval Office is amazing! "We will find them. And we will bring them to justice." This "tough talk" about Iraq and the terrorists brings up a few thoughts. Easy for you to say, from the comforts of an air-conditioned office or on a podium in front of die hard supporters! What's with the we?, from the guy who avoided Viet Nam by enlisting in the National Guard and then frolicked off to Alabama! It is mind-boggling how anyone can think this guy can make us safer, all he's good for is talking the talk, because he damn sure hasn't ever walked the walk!

Straight out of the dummy's book on how not to practice diplomacy: "GEORGE W. BUSH, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: The al Qaeda in Iraq is not a distraction from their war on America. It is the central battlefield where the outcome of the struggle will be decided. MICHAEL HOLMES, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Over the last couple of days I've spent a lot of time with many ordinary Iraqi student engineers, women's activists and other, asking precisely these questions, and I put that question to them, when the president says that, and they say why do you want to fight them over here and take our lives. Our lives are being lost so that American lives are more secure. Their attitude is when the president says that Iraq is now a haven for terrorists, the answer that came back very quickly was, well it wasn't until you invaded us and brought this war to us. So there's a lot of bitterness and anger when they hear the president say things like that. They don't want to be the central battleground in the war against terror, because they don't feel that they were terrorists to start with, and they feel that American security more important than their own on the streets of Baghdad."
