BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

A peek at the "culture of corruption" plans for our future: "Republicans over the next two years will focus on holding Democrats accountable, and recommitting to reforms that deliver for hardworking families." Err, exactly where was accountability for the past six years? Busy little money grubbers that they are, with their hands in the pockets of big business and cozying up to whosoever was willing to shell out the "perks" and the money! Where was the concern for "hardworking families" then? Was "concern" hidden away like most everything else in the text of the bill that limits bankruptcy, or maybe in the law that prohibits negotiating drug prices, or maybe it was in that bill giving companies tax breaks when shipping jobs overseas. And now that the Democrats are again in charge, the Repuglicans are stepping up to the political "accountability" plate; they are planning to fight the fight, though I seriously doubt it's for all those "hardworking families," because the Repuglicans have had a taste of what "corruption" born of power can do for them and they damn sure don't want to give it up!!!

"ED HENRY: ... Pressure building on President Bush to change course, with judgment from the Iraq Study Group coming Wednesday. So the president is trying to crank up the diplomacy, meeting with key Shiite leader Abdul Aziz al-Hakim ... DOBBS: Ed, thank you very much. ... Al-Hakim is one of the most powerful leaders in Iraq. Al-Hakim leads the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq. That is a Shia organization with very close ties to Iran. The organization also runs the so-called Badr Brigade. It is a militia that has been accused of carrying out sectarian murders. Al-Hakim's movement controls the Iraqi Interior Ministry as well. That ministry, of course, responsible for Iraq's entire police force." And I thought Bush didn't negotiate with "terrorists," foolish me!!!

The horror George W. Bush created in Iraq boils down to this---"KENNETH POLLACK, SABAN CENTER: At this point in time the situation has deteriorated so much that there probably just aren't any solutions to the problem of Iraq. There are simply choices to be made among these different bad options." The very reason George H.W. Bush opted not to go into Baghdad at the end of the Gulf War! Looks like Poppy is still the wiser man afterall!

Kinda, sorta, sounds as though John Bolton didn't want to fight for a Senate nomination to become a confirmed U. N. Ambassador, and then get fired because the Bush administration needs a "scapegoat"! As the Iraqi preemptive unnecessary war heads south, does Bolton know a whole lot that we don't? You bet your bippy he does! Are all the tried and true Bush supporters beginning to realize when it comes down to a "me or them" for George Bush, it will always be them? Is Bolton "resigning" or is he really trying to get the hell out before the accountability bus rolls in? Is Bolton actually aware that George Bush's loyalties begin and end with George Bush!!! Does he realize that Bush's only accomplishment while perched in the oval office has been cheering for himself, and that Bush's life lesson has been how to lie with a straight face! Did the trust factor for all these guys fly out the door when the door hit Rumsfeld in the behind?

Frankly, the only verification needed to know it was true, was knowing it was George Bush! Of course "this President could be so crude and uncivil as to strut the power of his office," with "full knowledge" that Senator James Webb's "son had almost died." These are inherent traits in this narcissist who calls himself "the decider"!!

It's beginning to look like Rumsfeld's out and Gates is in because: "JAMIE MCINTYRE: ... just before the November election, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld dropped one of his famous snowflakes on the White House, a terse to-the-point memo calling for, in his words, a major adjustment in U.S. strategy. ... In fact, one suggestion seemed like a line right out of a press release from Democrat and vocal critic John Murtha. 'Begin modest withdrawals (taking our hand off the bicycle seat, Rumsfeld called it) so Iraqis have to pull up their socks, step up.'" Firing Rumsfeld is verification that Bush IS calling the shots and IS definitely responsible for the failures! It also verifies the fact that Rumsfeld lied to the American people, and that he didn't give a rat's behind about the troops! He publicly supported Bush's views and privately knew it was a big ass mistake!!! Oh and in case you didn't know it, Gates does not want to pull troops out of Iraq!
