Alexandra McAnarney
Alex McAnarney is a communications consultant and recent graduate from the University of Chicago's Latin American Studies M.A. Program. Before studying at the University of Chicago, she worked as a communications coordinator at the Florida Immigrant Coalition and as an HIV/AIDS journalist in South Florida. She writes for the CIP Americas Program www.cipamericas.org. A native of El Salvador and former resident of Mexico City, her work focuses on migration, youth, gangs and health and can be found at perishmotherland.tumblr.com.
